Dreams: Truth No. 2

hey guys.

i've been super busy, so i haven't been able to write recently. so, on wednesday i went to a poker party, won a couple of hands, but no money. i lost 3 euros, haha, and actually only 2 because someone else fronted me one. to be fair, they originally said we were playing for pennies so i only have 2 euros and some odd cents.

by the way, happy thanksgiving! i'm glad i got to talk to most of you. i ended up having dinner with the other americans and some scottish, english, and irish people too. i'm not sure if they just couldn't find a turkey or just didn't have enough time to cook it, but we either way we didn't have one. we had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn bread (the british people hadn't had corn bread before). oh, and jordan made some salsa con queso (conquestadors!!! haha), the british people hadn't had that before either. i also helped make an apple pie and banaffie pie (british thing). it's made of chocolate crackers mashed up with butter on the bottom layer, then a layer of bananas, then melted condensed milk and butter (not sure if anything else was in it--it tasted like toffee), and then hwhip-ped (haha) cream on top (that i whipped by hand, by the way, not the most fun thing, but easier than stupid fudge), and then chocolate flakes on top of that. very delicioso.

friday i had dinner at a friend's flat with a bunch of people, and we ended up going to one of the girls' flat parties, wild wild west theme, afterward. i thought it was hilarious, some people really got into it, but one guy was all decked out and had a dollar bill in his pocket. haha. i wonder if he went and exchanged money to get one...i have a few with me, if i'd've known it would be all out i would've brought some to share! but...somehow during the party i wound up with a hat, i've never gotten so many compliments on something that didn't belong to me! and then just as magically, it disappeared when i left for the night. i have my suspicions.

this morning i went to the market with my friend and got some christmasy type things. we wound up walking down by the river and found this labyrinth pattern, not sure what it's about, but it looked kind of neat. there's a couple of pictures i'll put up of it. tomorrow i'm planning on going over to a friend's to make christmas decorations and decorate their flat in lent. i hear there'll be rice pudding and other goodies : )

i don't think i mentioned i got a ticket to go to maastrict, southern nederlands and then to the christmas market in aachen, germany the second week in december. a week before my dublin/london trip! yay! i'm also talking with a friend about going to berlin, germany with her in january, not sure when yet, but it would probably be just for the weekend. have a great rest of your weekend! and here's some pictures of my week.
