today in nijmegen, it snowed. it was super cold outside yesterday so i'm not very surprised, but i guess we'll see how well i do on my bike in the wet. it just barely covers the ground and coats everything in white. it reminds me of home, but i don't think i'm ready for freezing temps and biking. i'm definately glad i brought my unders with me for extra layers.
yesterday i earned 5 euros by being a lab rat. it took about 40 minutes, and i just pressed a button and imagined myself picking up random objects. it was very strange, but well worth it. some items were heavier than others, like a full glass of wine, or corn on a fork, or something like that, so the test was the difference in time it took me to press the button depending on whatever picture of an object they showed me. they gave me an iris cheque for the 5 euros, and this little pamphlet that goes with it that says where i can use it. i guess its kind of like a gift certificate, but it looks like i can use it at a grocery store and another store i shop in, kind of like a dollar store but slightly more expensive. it looks like some of the tests do pay very well, i've been emailing some of the people to make sure they're in english, and so far, i've just found the one i already did. hopefully more will come along later.
today i'm going to a surprise birthday party for a friend who thinks since she's turning 21 it's all downhill from here. haha. i've tried to reason with her, but no luck so far. i'm not sure what to give her as a present. i'm getting ready to go to the market, hopefully i'll get some ideas there.
